Itinerary
Day One (L, D)
We depart early on this Broome to Darwin Tour and venture to the Windjana Gorge, located in the Napier Ranges. Following lunch, we will have the chance to go native bird watching whilst making our way through the gorge. Exploring the gorge, we will endeavour to meet the resident freshwater crocodiles. During the afternoon, we journey to Tunnel Creek, listening to legendary stories of Jandamarra, the Indigenous freedom fighter. We will spend our first night under the stars at our campsite located at Silent Grove.
Day Two (B, L, D)
On this day we get a chance to visit some of the gorges throughout the area, including trips to Manning, Galvans and Bell Gorges. Each gorge is unique and beautiful, however gorge visits will solely depend on water levels at the time of the trip. To conclude a day of walking and swimming amongst the beauty of these gorges, we make our way to our 2nd overnight location, Mount Elizabeth Station.
Day Three (B, L, D)
On day 3, we will venture further east through Western Australia, stopping along the way for a swim and a hike. A drive across the vast Pentecost River will take us to El Questro, where we will spend two nights. Arriving in the afternoon, you will have the time to take advantage of the optional activities available at El Questro (own expense).
Day Four (B, L, D)
On day 4, the group will explore some of the one million acres of land that make up the EL Questro Wilderness Park. Take a dip in the Zebedee Hot Springs and discover the beauty of El Questro Gorge with a hike. In the evening, relax by the river or grab a drink at the bar and enjoy your last night at El Questro.
Day Six (B, L, D)
Wake up on day six ready for our scenic flight to the spectacular Bungle Bungles. We drive from Lake Argyle into Kununurra, where we meet our flight partner for this awesome once in a life time adventure. We rise up into the air to soar over Lake Argyle, Lake Kununurra, the Ord and Bow Rivers and the Car Boyd and Osmand Ranges, before catching our first glimpse of the Bungle Bungles from above. We touch down at the Purnululu National Park airfield, ready to explore the region from the ground with a walk amongst these incredible rock formations. Learn about the cultural significance of the area and visit the breathtaking Cathedral Gorge, before jumping back in the plane for the return scenic flight. We finish up the day at the Hidden Valley Caravan Park in Kununurra.
Day Seven (B, L, D)
We spend our last morning in Western Australia and cross the border into the Northern Territory as we make our way to the Victoria River Roadhouse. We will stop for lunch here and do the escarpment walk before heading to Katherine to relax in the crystal clear hot springs. Late in the afternoon we will arrive at our accommodation Knotts Crossing Resort, ready for dinner and a swim in the resort pool.
