2020 has been a devastating year for our social life, with Australia’s bars and restaurants shutting their doors due to the current pandemic.
However, some of Sydney’s favourite venues have given us a glimmer of hope this summer. Opening for business to give us an excuse to finally pull on our stylish clothes for a day out in the sun!
Being the go-to place for the northern beach locals of Sydney, Newport’s waterfront position makes it a truly stunning spot to park yourself at for the afternoon. Featuring a large balcony, and plenty of tables inside and out, bring your partner and posse and set up for a fun day in the sun! If you’re feeling a bit peckish, you can grab one of the platters on offer. Serving a variety of meats, Ranger’s Valley brisket, and seafood, with other meals including burgers, salads, and chips! The stunning view goes with the delicious food and drinks on offer, guaranteeing you one of the best days in your summer of 2020.
Instead of popping open a bottle of wine at home, head to the Surry Hill’s beloved Winery. You can cool off from the hot day in the cool interior, or head to out in the garden, which is particularly beautiful on a warm night. It is always buzzing with people, so if you are coming with a large group, it’s best to book ahead of time. Enjoy the Winery’s fantastic range of wines, or the various beers and cocktails if you aren’t much of a wine connoisseur.
Famed for its floor to ceiling windows, and lush indoor plants, this spot will make you feel like you are dining in the outdoors without the bugs and weather issues. Each floor is its own unique attraction, with restaurants, bars, and cafes making up this one stylish building. Once you travel to all the level’s goodies, head up to the rooftop to one of the best places to party in the eastern suburbs. With pumping music that’ll get anyone ready to boogie, and plenty of fun summer drinks to guarantee you a day (and night), you will remember!
Young Henry’s Brewery
Who doesn’t want to visit a brewery for a pint of ice-cold beer on a hot summer’s day? Young Henrys has five signature beers to try, a Real Ale, Natural Lager, Hop Ale, Cloudy Cider and Newtowner. Visitors can try out their tasting palette to decide on which is their favourite, and order some of the burgers and chips on offer to go with it! If you are a fan of music, then this brewery’s stereo will be perfect for you, with the staff aiming to bring a mix of rock, dance, punk, and more for the perfect summer mix!
