Best New South Wales Tours & Day Trips
New South Wales has Sydney as its touring hub, and from there the day trip options are excellent: Blue Mountains (1.5 hours west), Hunter Valley wine country (2 hours north), and Port Stephens dolphins (2.5 hours north). For those going further, Byron Bay and Canberra are also reachable as long day trips. NSW tours start from $85.

NSW Beyond Sydney
Regional NSW has its own touring circuit: Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers, the Snowy Mountains (ski season June to September), the South Coast, and the outback via Broken Hill and Lightning Ridge.
Byron Bay is 10 hours from Sydney by road. Most visitors fly to Ballina or Gold Coast and tour from there. Not a practical Sydney day trip, but a destination in its own right.
