Between 16 Sept - 15 Oct we will swap the National Museum visit with the annual Floriade.
The day tour will begin in the morning when we depart on a return trip from Sydney. You’ll get to sit back and relax on an air-conditioned drive towards Canberra, viewing lots of green countryside and quaint small towns along the way. We’ll stop in one of the small towns during the drive so you can get a snack or stretch out a bit.
Our first stop once we arrive in the capital city is the Canberra Parliament House, where we will embark on a guided tour. During this time, you can take in the amazing architecture of the building and the grounds of Capitol Hill.
As we continue our journey through Canberra, you will have time to enjoy the lunch that you packed or to stop at a local cafe before we head to the National Museum of Australia. Located on a peninsula, the museum is another architectural wonder that you won’t want to miss. Here you will have two hours on your own to learn about the history of Australia, from the people to the events that have shaped the nation we know today.
After exploring the museum during your free time, we will regroup and visit the Australian War Memorial before heading to the suburbs of Canberra on our way back to Sydney. As we drive through a suburb called Yarralumla, you will see an array of national embassies, which all have their own unique design and architecture that represents each country.
You won’t want to miss this wonderful day trip to the nation’s capital!
*Important note: Between the 16th of September until the 15th of October, we will be going to the annual, colourful Floriade instead of the National Museum of Australia.
