How long is the journey from Melbourne to the 12 Apostles?
You can drive straight from Melbourne to the 12 Apostles in about three hours. But that’s no fun! We take the scenic route along the Great Ocean Road to arrive at the 12 Apostles around 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Our reverse itinerary tours arrive at the 12 Apostles around 10:00 – 11:00am, then travel back along the Great Ocean Road. With stops along the way, the total journey time for all tours is 12 – 13 hours.
What are the differences between the Great Ocean Road tours?
All our Great Ocean Road tours visit the 12 Apostles and include several stops along the way. Most tours travel first along the Great Ocean Road to arrive at the 12 Apostles in the afternoon.
Our reverse itineraries travel in the opposite direction to visit the 12 Apostles in the morning, then come back to Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road. Our Great Ocean Road Sunset Tour leaves mid-morning to arrive at the 12 Apostles for sundown.

What’s the weather like on the Great Ocean Road?
Generally, the weather along the Great Ocean Road is cooler than in Melbourne. By the coast it can get quite windy. We recommend wearing layers and bringing a jacket, even on warm days.
Is lunch included?
Our tours include free time for you to grab some lunch at your own expense. The exception is the Great Ocean Road Reverse Tour which includes a picnic lunch. You’re also welcome to bring your own lunch or snacks.
