What to do in Apollo Bay

Located in southwest Victoria, Apollo Bay is a great stop along the iconic Great Ocean Road. It’s a perfect place to stop and stretch the legs, enjoy a coffee and take in the impressive Southern Ocean.

Get close to wildlife – not only home to a marine sanctuary and migrating whales. Apollo Bay is home to seals, koalas, rosellas, glow worms and the hard-to-spot platypus.

Beaches – always a crowd favourite in summer. A winter stroll along Apollo Bay or Marengo Beach is beautiful. Rug up and stroll along the sand surrounded by rolling green hills.

Have a drink – at the Apollo Bay Distillery or the Great Ocean Road Brewhouse. A big day of walking is best rewarded with a cold beverage at the end of the day after all.

Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary – Large area of protected ocean past Apollo Bay. An abundance of sea life is found within the reefs of the sanctuary. This rocky beach is found in Marengo and is best visited at low tide.

Rainforest walk at Maits Rest – enjoy a walk through the rainforest and fern gardens in the Great Otway National Park.

Otway Fly Treetop Adventures – walk amongst the sky in 25m high elevated walkways.
