Cable Beach and Broome Town Tours
Cable Beach is Broome’s 22km stretch of red-cliff-backed white sand. Sunset camel rides on Cable Beach are the most iconic thing to do in Broome. Tour options also include: pearling heritage tours in town, the Japanese Cemetery (a reminder of the dangerous early pearl diving industry), and Gantheaume Point at low tide where 130-million-year-old dinosaur footprints are exposed.
Broome town is worth a half-day on its own: Chinatown, the Sun Pictures outdoor cinema (claimed to be one of the world’s oldest operating picture gardens), and local art galleries with Kimberley Aboriginal art.
Kimberley Adventure Tours
The Kimberley is one of Australia’s most remote and dramatic regions. Horizontal Falls, the Bungle Bungles (Purnululu National Park), Mitchell Falls, and the Gibb River Road gorge country are the headline attractions. Access requires a 4WD or small aircraft. Most tours to the deep Kimberley are multi-day, departing from Broome or Kununurra.
Horizontal Falls: a natural phenomenon 200km from Broome. Water pours through narrow gorges creating tidal horizontal waterfalls. Usually visited by seaplane or fast boat tour.

Cable Beach, pearling history, and the Staircase to the Moon natural phenomenon.
