22 Day Perth to Darwin Tour Itinerary
Join our 22 Day Perth to Darwin Tour to explore the vast landscapes, white sandy beaches and array of Australian wildlife. Enjoy a full guided tour through The Pinnacles and be amazed by these unique limestone formation. Visit the famous Shell Beach and Stromatolites in Shark Bay. Meet the friendly Monkey Mia dolphins as they come close ashore for a day of feeding. You’ll get the opportunity to enjoy plenty of activities in Coral Bay including a chance to explore the reef in search of whale sharks and mantra rays. Day 1: Perth to Kalbarri
We depart from Perth in the morning, venturing out to the Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park to explore these incredible limestone formations. Next up you’ll be able to test out your sand boarding skills down the massive expanse of dunes at Jurien Bay! Following lunch, we will make a quick stop in the seaside town of Geraldton before heading to our overnight stay in Kalbarri.

Day 2: Kalbarri National Park and Shark Bay
The following day, our adventure continues to the Kalbarri National Park to discover the impressive Murchison Gorge, Natures Windows and the Loop Walk. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can abseil into the gorge (at your own expense) and see Kalbarri National Park from a different perspective! We will visit the picturesque Shell Beach and view the stunning snow-white beach made up of billions of tiny shells. In the afternoon, we will start making our way to Denham and Shark Bay.

Day 3: Shark Bay to Coral Bay
Day three of our adventure starts off by visiting the acclaimed Monkey Mia dolphins and seeing the friendly dolphins frolicking around as they are fed by the park rangers – enjoy taking some Instagram worthy photos as they swim up close to the shore! Following this, we venture out to visit one of the world’s oldest living organisms, the Stromatolites in Hamelin Pool. To conclude the day, we relax in our accommodation in Coral Bay, located right next to the famous Ningaloo Reef!

Day 4: Coral Bay and Yardi Creek
Day four is a full day of relaxation at Coral Bay. Here, you can have a stroll along the beach, go for a snorkel in the crystal-clear waters or explore the underwater world of the Ningaloo Reef on a glass bottom boat cruise to discover the spectacular marine life below. You can take an optional scenic flight over the reef or if you’re seeking for more thrills or hop on a quad bike tour of the local area (at your own expense). Then we will make our way to Cape Range National Park to spend the night in our exclusive campsite.

Day 5: Exmouth and Cape Range National Park
We start exploring the rugged limestone ranges and magnificent pristine beaches of the Cape Range National Park. Here, you can experience snorkeling in search of whale sharks and manta rays, visit Vlamingh Head Lighthouse or simply enjoy the feel of the sand on your feet of the pristine beach of Turquoise Bay.

Day 6: Karijini National Park
On day six of our adventure to journey towards the vast cattle stations of the Pilbara region. In the afternoon, we journey towards Tom Price, the highest town in Western Australia nestled deep in the Hamersley Ranges. We will be staying the night at Kariijini National Park, where you can snuggle inside your tent under the star-studded desert sky.

Day 7 & 8: Karijini National Park
The following two days will be spent discovering Karijini National Park and its impressive network of gorges, rock pools and waterfalls. You’ll have the chance for some more Instagram worthy photographs over the Hamersley Ranges with the picturesque backdrop overseeing the Karijini. Hike deeper into the gorges, where you’ll witness some of the stunning cascading waterfalls, swim in the refreshing waters of the spectacular Dales Gorge and Circular Pool – just to name a few places you can visit! Both days we will enjoy a night stay in our tent at the Karijini National Park.

Day 9: Pilbara Region
Day nine of our adventure take us to further north to Port Hedland, the second largest town in the Pilbara region. A guided tour of the town will show you the fascinating history of this quaint township and help you understand the scale of the iron ore industry in WA. After our tour around town, lunch is enjoyed at a nearby station, where we settle down for camp.

Day 10, 11 & 12: Broome
We kick start our journey towards Broome, where we will be staying for the following three days, with an en route stop over to stretch our legs and enjoy the tranquil scenery along the vast 80 Miles Beach. On arrival to Broome, check into your accommodation and perhaps explore the famous Cable Beach, visit the world’s oldest open-air cinema or simply enjoy a camel ride on the beach as you watch the sun goes down.
The following two days will give you the chance to explore more of what Broome has to offer. Enjoy the famous stroll back to Cable Beach for your morning coffee or perhaps walk into the Old Broome Town in the afternoon.

Day 13: Broome
On day thirteen, we will arrange your pickup from your accommodation to take you on a journey to explore the vibrant outback town of Broome and learn the fascinating history of this unique location. We have a pitstop along the beach for a picnic style lunch and to test your skills in the Australia outdoor sport of beach cricket! To end the day, we’ll head back to our accommodation to get ready to be on the road the next following day.

Day 14: Windjana Gorge
On day fourteen of our adventure, we leave Broome and head up north into the great Australian Outback to the Oscar Ranges and onto Tunnel Creek. Here, we will take you on a guided walk through the creek leading to a 750-metre tunnel in the Napier Ranges and learn about its significance in Aboriginal culture and history of this region.
Following this we head to the Windjana Gorge, once an underwater reef just 350 million years ago. During the wet season, it is an impressive sight to see the raging torrent of Lennard River to flow all the way through the gorge. During the dry season, it’ll give you the chance to explore the gorge with a series of picturesque billabongs and ponds. Lunch is followed by an adventure to see the Bell Gorge – a secret hidden highlight! Immerse yourself in natural beauty of Bell Gorge, known for being one of the most idyllic retreat amongst the gorges on Gibb River Road. To end the day, we make our way back to camp for dinner and camping under the star-studded sky.

Day 15: Windjana Gorge and the Gibb River Road
Getting up bright and early we journey along the legendary Gibb River Road towards the centre of the Kimberly region. Depending on the time of the year, you may get the chance to explore the gorges of Galvans or Adcock. We will settle in for camp at Mount Barnett where we can enjoy sitting around the crystal-clear water fresh water river surrounding the campsite as the sun goes down.

Day 16: Gibb River Road to El Questro
We have a full day to discover some of the stunning gorges along the Gibb River Road, including Manning Gorge. Depending on the day, you may have the chance to visit the Barnett Gorge. As you travel through the remote and vast landscapes of Northern Western Australia, you will come across the Pentecost River before reaching the famous El Questro Station, where we nestle in for a night of camping under the stars.

Day 17: El Questro Station
Getting up bright and early we will spend the day exploring the astounding surroundings of El Questro Station. Hike through the majestic orange cliffs of Cockburn Ranges and enjoy a dip under the waterfall at Emma Gorge. Later in the evening, we enjoy our second night in El Questro campsite, where we can enjoy a well-deserved drink at the station bar with your travel buddies!

Day 18: Purnululu National Park
Day eighteen of our adventure starts with a journey to the remote township of Warnum (also known as Turkey Creek) with an en-route stop along the rugged cliffs of Carr Boyd and Durack Ranges. In the late afternoon, we will hop on a 4WD to take on the tough terrain of Purnululu National Park, home to the famous gigantic boulders, the Bungle Bungles. You can relax in the evening by watching the sun going down over the Osmond Ranges before settling in for camp.

Day 19: The Bungle Bungles
We wake early on day nineteen of our adventure to prepare for the action-packed day! Enjoy the chance to explore the impressive bee-hive stripped Bungle Bungles and some of Western Australia’s most spectacular scenery including Lake Argle, the Ord and Osman Ranges. Take a walk amongst the incredible rock formations of Echidna Chasm and learn the cultural significance, before exploring the astonishing natural amphitheater of red rock at Cathedral Gorge. As the sun sets, enjoy a relaxing stroll back into camp!

Day 20: Bungle Bungles and Lake Argyle
On day twenty of our adventure, we board a 4WD vehicle to venture our way through the tough beaten terrain of the Bungle Bungles towards Kunnurra. On the way, we may get the chance to explore the rugged gorges and be surrounded by the amazing red rock walls of Hidden Valley. In the late afternoon, we make our way to Lake Argyle to nestle into our camp for the night beside the Ord River!

Day 21: Lake Argyle to the Katherine Region
Our second last day is spent exploring the fringes of Lake Argyle. The freshwater lake is nestled amongst a rugged billion-year-old landscape and is one of the largest man-made lakes in Australia! Next, we cross the state boarding into Northern Territory before disembarking in Katherine for our last camping night together.

Day 22: Darwin
As our epic journey from Perth draws to a close, we will spend the last day exploring the majestic beauty of Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) or enjoy the cascading cool water of Edith Falls. We will shortly disembark in Darwin, where our 22 Day Perth to Darwin tour ends.
As your Perth to Darwin journey ends, you can continue your journey from Darwin to Kakadu and Uluru!
