Enjoy the wine tastings

Drayton’s has a selection of different wine tastings you can book to do. There is a pioneer tasting, a heritage tasting, a pioneer fortified tasting, and a heritage fortified tasting. You’ll learn about the different wines as you’re getting to try them for the first time.

Join the winery tour

Experience a guided tour around Drayton’s Family Wines and learn about the 170 years of history. The tour takes you underground to their Cellar Museum where you get to taste six wines.

Eat at Café 1853

Next to the cellar door is Café 1953 to taste and enjoy your favourite types of foods like pizza or hot chips. The café has delicious stonebaked pizzas, wines, beer, and a selection of desserts.

The history of Drayton’s Family Wines

Drayton’s Family Wines has a history starting from 1853 when Joseph Drayton bought land in Pokolbin and built the Bellevue. A few years later he planted his first lot of vines.

Joseph and his wife Mary Ann Chick had eight children, and one of their children took over the Bellevue property. Now there have been over six generations who have had part of the winery’s history over the years.
