This March, the Ward family managed to smash out 440 kilometres, raising a whopping $7,000 for Cancer Council.
They ran, stepped, hiked, and trekked 440 kilometres. Sometimes as a family, in pairs, or solo. Each step towards the finish line counted, and it wasn’t always easy…but they smashed the challenge with flying colours!
Last month, husband and wife Cam and Liz, and their two boys Eli and Leo, tackled the March Charge to help tell cancer where to go.

So ultimately…A huge thank you to all who donated!
The final goal completely surpassed expectations. Originally, they set out to raise 5K, but this was completed before the challenge even started. With a generous donation from NFL Quarterback Joe Burrow, and a $2500 match from their company Sightseeing Tours Australia, the goal was met before March began.
By the end of the month, they raised a huge 7K, which was far more than was even anticipated.

No success story is complete without a setback…
But of course, it couldn’t of all gone 100% smoothly…the Wardies were 2 walkers down when injury struck!
With half of the family facing injuries, Cam and Leo’s step count became that little bit heavier!
Leo and Cam picked up the extra Kilometres, with two walkers down. Yet Liz and Eli soldiered on despite their injuries and made it to the finish line. They trod on through and they managed to make the 440 kilometres goal.
Taking on the extra kilometres with a smile, Leo provided plenty of comedy with each step. Eli chipped in where he could with some shorter walks. Liz made a strong comeback and tackled the final Ks at the end! Overall, the Ward family have walked a whopping 440 kilometres for this fantastic cause.
Although the pressure was on in the last couple of weeks, they made it!
We’re thrilled to have reached such a mammoth target for an amazing charity that does such incredible work.
Supporting Cancer Council
Fundraising for the Cancer Council means that every dollar donated goes towards a whole range of cancer-treating research and support. This amazing charity works hard to supply donations for prevention, treatment programs, and family support systems. The Cancer Council are an inspiring charity, and we couldn’t be happier with the final fundraising result.
But now we’re left wondering…what’s the next challenge?
