What wineries should I visit?

There are over 150 cellar doors in Hunter Valley you can visit for wine tastings. With an overwhelming choice, let’s go through some of our favourite ones.

The Garden Cellars

The Garden Cellars is a beautiful winery to go to as it’s in the lush Hunter Valley Gardens. This winery sells a range of wines and even spirits, beer, cider, and seltzer.

Garden Cellars 2019 shiraz is full of fruit flavours and has an overtone of oak and spices. Or try the David Franz 2019 Long Gully Road Semillon. This 2019 Semillon has notes of honeyed lemon, apple, and summer grass.

Sobels Wines

Not only does Sobels Wines have delicious wines, but the cellar door is also one of the region’s most unique and iconic buildings! Here you’ll be able to try a range of whites, reds, desserts, rosès, and sparkling wines.

Sobel has a beautiful tasting medium-bodied shiraz. The Shiraz has red berry notes with vanillin oak and is perfect to have with a BBQ meal or even pasta!
But if you prefer Semillon, there are intense lemon and lime notes wines with a bit of acidity.
