See the Blue Mountains from the very best angles at the top tourist attraction in the region!

Step out of the hustle and bustle of Sydney and venture into the stunning expanse of the Blue Mountains to experience the natural beauty of Australia. Here, you can witness colourful native birds and breathtaking views of the velvet peaks and beyond. The region is home to several World Heritage Listed sites, including the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls, and the Jamison Valley.

At the heart of it all lies Scenic World, a hotspot that lets you enjoy the region from several different, awe-inspiring perspectives. Home to four different attractions that take you above the canopies to look down on the Jamison Valley and beyond, it’s the perfect place to discover the incredible beauty of the Blue Mountains.

The Attractions at Scenic World

  • Scenic Railway

The most popular attraction at Scenic World is the Scenic Railway, the steepest passenger railway in the entire world. Set at a 52-degree angle, its glass-roofed carriages give you almost 360 views of the surrounding scenery. Even better, you can design your own adventure thanks to the custom designed carriages that let you choose your seat positioning. Opt for a “Cliffhanger” ride at 64-degrees or, for something a bit more leisurely, stick to the “Original” setting. Descending down 310 metres of lush mountain scenery, you’ll get to experience the Jamison Valley floor in a completely unique way.

  • Scenic Walkway

The Walkway gives you the chance to stroll amongst ancient plant life in the Blue Mountains, taking you along a 2.4-kilometre route through the rainforest. Laid out as an elevated boardwalk, you can fully immerse yourself in the Jurassic scenery of the Valley without worrying about your impact on the environment. As you go, you can learn more about the fascinating coal mining history of the region, discover the unique local flora and fauna that characterises the area, and drink pure water out of the picturesque Marrangaroo Spring. There are several different routes you can take, each one varying in difficulty and length.

  • Scenic Cableway

From the Cableway, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Blue Mountains as they unfold around you. Descending down 545 metres into the Jamison Valley, the Cableway gives you a unique vantage point for spotting flora and fauna along the way. From the fully-enclosed cabin, you can gaze out at the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock, Mount Solitary, and Katoomba Falls, before disembarking at the bottom and taking a stroll along the Scenic Walkway.

  • Scenic Skyway

Set 270 metres above the ancient forest floor, the Scenic Skyway takes you above the tree canopy and provides a unique thrill as you glide above incredible views below the electro-glass cabin floor. You’re exposed to 360-degree views as you go along the 720 metre journey which provides the best views of Katoomba Falls and the other natural attractions in the area.
