Come visit and experience the very best of Darwin’s tropical lifestyle.

Darwin is the capital city of the Northern Territory and is also a city that’s full of adventure. Whether you settle down to watch a spectacular sunset or go on a quick trip to one of the Territory’s national parks, Darwin has something for you.

1. Mindil Beach Sunset Markets

Mindil Beach Sunset Markets

The Mindil Beach Markets is Darwin’s most popular night market. Come check out the different stalls selling all kinds of items from clothing, jewellery, artwork and more!

There is a range of different food trucks for you to grab a tasty dinner before making your way down to the beach to see the best sunset in Australia.

The markets are open in the dry season between May to October on Thursdays and Sundays. You can park at the markets (be sure to get there early!) or you can catch the 4 or 6 bus route.

2. Crocosaurus Cove

Come see Australia’s largest saltwater crocodiles, along with other reptiles like snakes and lizards. The most popular activity to do at Crocosaurus Cove is the Cage of Death! Go face-to-face with a large croc while you are inside a thick glass cage.

Crocosaurus Cove is in the heart of Darwin City on Mitchell Street.

3. Darwin Waterfront

Darwin Waterfront

Darwin Waterfront is a popular area lined with restaurants, bars, a human-made beach, and even the Wave Pool! Enjoy a swim by the beach or something more thrilling at the Wave Pool, then grab some delicious food at one of the many restaurants.

Darwin Waterfront is a short walk from Smith Street Mall and the Esplanade with activities and events happening throughout the year.

4. Jumping Crocodile Cruise

You haven’t been to Darwin if you don’t see a crocodile or two! The Jumping Crocodile Cruise is a fantastic (and safe) way to see crocs in the wild.

Watch as these huge reptiles launch out of the water to grab their snack dangling in front of them!

5. Litchfield National Park

Litchfield National Park

Litchfield National Park is only a short hour’s drive from Darwin and is one of the Territory’s most popular national parks!

Litchfield has refreshing swimming holes, amazing waterfalls, and very tall termite mounds! You can get a hire car and travel out to Litchfield, or book a day tour and see all the amazing highlights that the national park has.
