1 Day Litchfield Tour Itinerary
The day begins as we head from Darwin to the Adelaide River, home of the famous Jumping Crocs. Join the optional leisurely cruise, where you’ll get to learn more about these prehistoric creatures and watch them launch out of the water for a delicious morsel of buffalo meat. If you opt not to join the Jumping Crocs, we’ll head to the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, home to hundreds of wetland species and an excellent place to view wildlife in their natural habitat.
Then we’ll move into the national park, where you’ll be exposed to the stunning landscapes and incredible selection of wildlife. On the way, we’ll stop for some photos at the astonishing magnetic termite mounds, a truly mesmerizing feat of nature. Check out the centuries-old inhabitants and learn more about their behaviour and habitat.
Once arrived in Litchfield, we’ll begin exploring the wild bushland and gushing waterfalls of the national park. We’ll cool off with a stop for a swim at either Buley Rockhole or Wangi Falls. Surrounded by lush greenery, these swimming spots are a favourite amongst locals, where you can chill out in the shade, splash about in the water and dip under the waterfall for a relaxing natural massage!
Then we’ll take a stroll through the landscape of Litchfield, enjoying the views of cliff-faces and dipping valleys from Tolmer Falls or Florence Falls. Surrounded by monsoon forest, these towering waterfalls are impressive to view all year round.
We’ll then make our way back to Darwin before darkness falls, which is where your day of exploring and wildlife comes to an end.
