Day One (Lunch & Dinner)
Starting from Alice Springs we make our way towards our first stop, Mt Connor lookout, aka false Uluru. We’ll admire its grandeur and take a quick break at Curtin Springs before reaching Uluru for lunch.
After lunch, we visit the Red Centre’s Indigenous Cultural Centre to learn about the significance of The Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. As we approach Uluru, you’ll be blown away by the massive size and magnificence of the monolith. We’ll explore further with a base walk, starting off towards Mutitjulu waterhole. Admire the sacred rock art sites in family caves and hear creation stories of Kuniya and Liru as we continue our exploration towards Kuniya Piti and Kantju Gorge.
Finally, after exploring Uluru up close, we retreat to a serene spot to witness one of the most spectacular sunsets on the planet.
Day Two (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
We rise early to tuck into a light breakfast before embarking on a magical sunrise experience in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. If you thought Uluru was special, you’ll be in awe as we approach the magnificent silhouette of Kata Tjuta. We enjoy a hike through the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge, marvelling at the impressive conglomerate rock formations. After exploring Kata Tjuta, we head towards the Kings Canyon region. End the day with another stunning sunset and a delicious dinner around the campfire.
Day Three (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
We begin our day early to discover the imposing Kings Canyon (Watarrka), ancient landscape of the Ulpanyali and Lilla people. Upon arriving at the heart of Watarrka National Park, you’ll be surrounded by towering cliff faces that soar to 100 meters. Make sure you have your water, hat, and sturdy shoes ready as we set out to explore the canyon on foot. The hike offers breathtaking views of sandstone chasms and awe-inspiring backdrops that will send shivers down your spine. In the afternoon, rest in the bus as we travel north to reach the West MacDonnell Ranges for an evening of stargazing at our bush camp.
Day Four (Breakfast & Lunch)
We’ll spend our final day exploring the stunning gorges and water holes of the West MacDonnell Ranges near Alice Springs. Rise early to enjoy breakfast while watching the native wildlife at Standley Chasm, an 80-meter-high gorge that is only 3 meters wide. After brekky, we head west to Ellery Creek Bighole, traditionally known as Udepata. Take a dip in the refreshing water surrounded by tall red cliffs and sandy banks of Ellery Creek. Next, we visit Ormiston Gorge, where massive geological forces created towering red walls.
On our journey back to Alice Springs, we make a final stop at Simpsons Gap. Here you can spot resident wildlife near the permanent waterhole. Having explored the best of Central Australia’s natural icons, we drop you off in Alice Springs, leaving you to reflect on your four-day adventure and the new friends you have made.
