1 Day Wineglass Bay Tour from Hobart Itinerary
1 Day Wineglass Bay Tour from Hobart
We begin our adventure with a scenic drive from Hobart, following the eastern coastline north. Along the way, we pass through charming seaside towns like Orford and Swansea, offering glimpses of the serene coastal life before arriving at Freycinet National Park.
The highlight of our journey is a moderate 45-minute uphill hike to the Wineglass Bay Lookout. Once at the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of one of the “World’s Top 10 Beaches” and the surrounding Freycinet National Park. This walk is one of Tasmania’s Great Short Walks, and while it requires a good level of fitness, the panoramic views are well worth the effort.
For those eager for a more extended experience, there is an option to continue down to Wineglass Bay Beach. This 2.5-hour return walk allows ample time to explore the beach, enjoy a picnic, take a refreshing swim in the clear waters, or simply relax on the white sands. The walk to the beach is one of the most rewarding experiences in Tasmania.
If you prefer a shorter walk, you can return from the lookout with our guide and spend the rest of your time exploring other scenic spots within Freycinet National Park. You’ll visit the picturesque Honeymoon Bay, the tranquil Sleepy Bay, and the Cape Tourville Lighthouse, where you can take an easy 20-minute walk to enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of the coastline.
On our return journey, we’ll stop at the stunning Devil’s Corner Winery. Here, you can unwind while taking in the magnificent views, enjoying a wine tasting, or treating yourself to wood-fired pizza, fresh seafood, oysters, or ice cream (at your own expense).
We’ll conclude our day with a scenic drive back to Hobart, returning around 6:00 pm.
