The tides will dictate your arrival time onto the island, so we may include a ‘surprise’ on the mainland, before heading on the barge to K’Gari. Tides and weather may also dictate the order of the itinerary activities. Your guide will advise of the planned itinerary and the day’s activities at the start of the tour.

We start our adventure with a fun and informative tour briefing, complete with a lesson on how to drive safely on K’gari (Fraser Island) to prepare you for the trip ahead. Next, we’ll gear up in groups, and once you have a sleeping bag and luggage storage organised, we’re off!
After a quick 10-minute ferry crossing, we’ll hit the sand and K’gari’s 75 Mile Beach Highway – our first destination is Eurong Beach Resort. Here you’ll get a chance to fuel up on caffeine and delicious pastries (own expense) before the real adventure begins. Next up: Lake McKenzie! One of the most picturesque and rightly popular spots on the island, this is a perched lake, known for only being filled with rainwater – making it incredibly clear. You’ll have the opportunity to spend the day swimming and relaxing, as well as tucking into a delicious lunch.
Once you’ve had enough R&R, we’ll head to our campsite, where we will settle in for an early dinner and some well-deserved drinks.
The next morning we’ll be up bright and early, fuelling up with breakfast for a busy day on K’gari. Our first stop will be Eli Creek, where you’ll get the chance to swim and float in the crystal-clear freshwater creek. Afterwards, we’ll check out the famous Maheno Shipwrecks, followed by Indian Head, the island’s highest point. If you’re lucky, you may even spot some whales and sharks in the distance. Next up, we’ll go for a dip in the wonderful Champagne Pools. Lunch will be served at either Maheno Shipwreck or Champagne Pools, depending on time constraints and tide times. In the afternoon, travel back to camp for dinner and drinks.
On our last day, we’ll start the morning with breakfast and disassembling our campsites. Once all packed, we’ll make our way to Lake Wabby, where we’ll trek through magnificent sand dunes. Lunch will be served at the tropical paradise of Lake Wabby. Afterwards, it’s time for us to make our way back to the barge and cross back to the mainland. Once on the mainland, head to the 4WD shed where you can unpack and quickly clean the cars – this is where our adventure comes to an end, unfortunately.
