Your tour includes a daily morning tea, two lunches and a tasty breakfast, comfortable 4WD bus transport and many incredible stops. One of these stops is Central Station which has transformed from its origins as a bustling logging station into a captivating tourist destination. Explore the enchanting Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk, where you can encounter ancient trees like King Ferns.
Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora) stands as the epitome of K’gari’s beauty, boasting a picture-perfect swimming spot. Travelling along the impressive highway of 75 Mile Beach offers more than just breathtaking views. Keep an eye out for the dingoes and bids, and humpback whales if you’re travelling between July and October.
Embark on a serene journey down Eli Creek. Drift along its calm waters and let your worries float away. Witness the captivating sight of the Maheno Shipwreck, an old ship that was stranded on K’gari’s shores during an unexpected cyclone in 1935. It remains one of the island’s most intriguing landmarks.
Discover the remarkable Pinnacles Coloured Sands and get to know all about the Indigenous Dreamtime stories. Marvel at the radiant, cliff-like formations that showcase many rare shades of red, orange, and yellow sands.
We’ll also be checking out Indian Head, a rocky headland residing at the island’s most easterly point. Indulge in the natural wonders of Champagne Pools, where you can take a refreshing dip in these exquisite, sparkling pools created by crashing waves over volcanic rocks.
Go on an adventure to Lake Wabby*, crossing the desert-like Hammerstone Sandblow to be rewarded with a panoramic view of the ocean, lake, and forest. Plunge into the emerald green freshwater lake, a true marvel of nature.
*Please note that the Lake Wabby walk is a 4km return journey through bushland and soft sands, requiring a moderate fitness level (this activity is optional).
