It may not always be possible to visit the wineries described in the itinerary. In this instance, we will visit an alternative winery to offer you a similar experience.
Departing Adelaide, we head straight towards the rolling Adelaide Hills. Stopping in Gumeracha, marvel at the iconic Big Rocking Horse—the largest in the world! Climb to the viewing deck for stunning views, or take a moment to grab a coffee or snack.
Afterwards, put your listening skills to the test at the Barossa Reservoir, famously known as the Whispering Wall, named for its unusual acoustic effects.
Next, we’ll journey deeper into the Barossa Valley for our first cellar door experience at Kies Family Wines. Known for their philosophy of ‘quality over quantity,’ you’ll have the chance to savour their award-winning wines in an intimate setting.
We’ll then continue to Lambert Estate for another wine tasting before taking a seat in their modern restaurant. Enjoy gourmet stone-oven pizzas while chatting and sipping on renowned wines.
After lunch, take in the breathtaking views of the Barossa Valley from Mengler’s Hill Lookout before heading to Tanunda. Enjoy 45 minutes of free time to explore the charming German township, browse local shops, and sample regional produce. You may also like to visit Z Wines for another wine tasting or try craft beers at Rehn Bier Brewhouse.
Finally, we’ll journey back to Adelaide, wrapping up a long yet indulgent day in the Barossa!
