Along the way you’ll visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park before setting up camp in the desert. You’ll check out Coober Pedy, Australia’s opal city to then cross the impressive Oodnadatta Track. Pack a comfy backpack, bring your sense of adventure and explore the best bits between Uluru and Adelaide.

This tour is recommended for travellers aged 8 years and above.
Because this is a camping tour, involvement is required. You might have to help prepare meals and set up/pack up camp.
This tour also includes hikes. We ask you to have a good fitness level.
Luggage is restricted to a maximum of one 15kg backpack/soft travel bag and one hand luggage size bag. Please don’t bring a suitcase.

8 Day Uluru to Adelaide Tour Itinerary
Let history, culture and nature come together on this 8 Day Uluru to Adelaide Tour. Explore the rugged and red landscape of Uluru and be in awe of the underground town of Coober Pedy. You’ll be able to enjoy many activities & experiences, including hiking around Uluru and learning more about Aboriginal culture. Discover the Aussie outback by travelling along the Oodnadatta Track and visiting William Creek. Here, between Uluru and Adelaide, sleeping under the stars will be an unforgettable adventure!

Day 1: Explore Yulara and Uluru Sunset
We depart from our hotel Uluru in the afternoon and check out the Cultural Centre in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Here they will teach you some of the Anangu culture and history. Have a wander and look at the beautiful art of the Anangu people. We’ll then head to our camp to set up our swags, get to know each other a bit better while enjoying a delicious dinner on the campfire. Tonight, you’ll be introduced to a milky way you’ve never seen before!

Day 2: Discover Uluru
Today we get up early to enjoy the most beautiful sunrise. We watch the sun come up behind Uluru, which is definitely the best way to wake up! If that’s not awesome enough, wait for what we’re going to do next: a 10km guided walk around Uluru! This is the closest you can get to the iconic rock. After lunch, you get to participate in a fun and inspiring dot painting workshop led by a talented local Anangu artist. Learn about ancient symbols used in Anangu art and teachings, and create your own artwork using this knowledge to take home and always remind you of your time in the heart of Australia.
After the 1.5-hour painting session, we head back to camp to relax., or check out the resort’s activities. In the evening we’ll have another camp dinner before getting cosy in our swags.

Day 3: Yulara to Kings Canyon/Watarrka
It’s day 3 and we’ve got a jam packed itinerary to enjoy. We’ll check out Kata Tjuta and then drive to Watarrka National Park and famous Kings Canyon. Go for a guided walk through the Valley of the Winds where flora, fauna and wildlife come together. This night we’ll be staying at the popular Kings Creek Station.

Day 4: Kings Canyon to Coober Pedy
Get up early for a fun Kings Canyon Rim Walk. Enjoy sandstone walls of 300 metre, canyons, waterholes and so much more! Check out Priscilla’s Crack which you might know from the movie Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Discover the Lost city and the Garden of Eden. Travel from the Northern Territory to South Australia and explore Coober Pedy where you can get a real Aussie opal. In summer, it can get up to 50 degrees or more. That’s why most people live undergrounds. And we want to provide you with this experience too. So tonight, we’ll be sleeping undergrounds, in a cave!

Day 5: Coober Pedy to William Creek
On day 5 we’ll be exploring Coober Pedy some more. We’ll head to the Umoona Opal Mine and Museum where we get to know more about the Aboriginal and European settlement. You can also try to get your own opals! Then we check out Josephine’s Gallery and Kangaroo Orphanage to meet their rescued kangaroos. After Coober Pedy we’ll make our way toward William Creek, which is surrounded by world’s biggest cattle station, Anna Creek. We’ll also travel along Lake Cadibarrawirracanna, the longest name for a lake in the world and then enjoy a tasty dinner at William Creek Hotel.

Day 6: William Creek to Flinders Ranges NP via the Oodnadatta Track
Awaken your sense of adventure because today we take on a part of the Oodnadatta Track! Kilometres of unsealed roads and desert like views. We’ll pass Lake Eyre which is the largest lake of Australia. Get yourself a tasty lunch on our drive toward Skytrek Willow Springs Station, our place to stay for the night. We’re now in the Flinders Ranges, a beautiful area full of natural springs and walking tracks. The next two nights we’ll be sleeping under stars again which you’ll miss after this tour for sure. But for now, we still have a few days.

Day 7: Check out Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park
Now that we are in the Flinders Ranges, we also want to explore some more of the National Park. Lace up your hiking boots for a great hike with beautiful vistas of waterholes and rugged landscapes. One of the knowledgeable Park Rangers will teach us a bit more about conservation activities within the park and do some actual conservation work! We then have lunch and go for a drive at Brachina Gorge. We enjoy our final night of camping under the sky at the Skytrek Willow Springs Station.

Day 8: Flinders Ranges to Adelaide
On our final day we discover the Arkaroo Rock Trail and see the beautiful rock art of the Adnyamathanha people. After our lunch we’ll travel to Alligator Gorge which is in Mount Remarkable National Park. Eventually we travel across Clare Valley, a popular wine region in South Australia and make our way to Adelaide. We’ll be back around 6pm.
