2 Day Cape Tribulation & Atherton Tablelands Tour Itinerary
Day One (Lunch & Dinner)
On day one, meet your guide and fellow travellers in Cairns before we head out to the verdant Atherton Tablelands. The first stop is Millaa Millaa Falls, a picture-perfect 30-metre-high waterfall, where you can swim behind the cascading waters and get some unbeatable photos of this tropical location. We’ll head to Babinda Boulders for a walk through the ancient rainforest and a swim in the crystal-clear waters before having some serious fun at nature’s best rockslide, Josephine Falls.
Enjoy a delicious 2-course lunch before we head to Lake Eacham, an extinct volcanic crater lake. Enjoy another swim and hopefully spot one of Australia’s most elusive and weird animals – the platypus. In the evening we head to an eco-lodge in the Atherton Tablelands and enjoy dinner. Before the day wraps up, we head out on a night canoe tour. This is the best time to spot many of the area’s nocturnal animals and be amazed by the stars of the incredible night sky.
Day Two (Breakfast & Lunch)
Rise and shine for another day of exploring the wonders of Tropical North Queensland. After breakfast, we start the journey north towards the oldest rainforest in the world – the Daintree. Along the way, we enjoy some photo stops at picturesque lookout points and tuck into some morning tea on 4-Mile Beach in Port Douglas.
Climb aboard the crocodile spotting cruise to observe Australia’s most fearsome predator in the wild. Your local croc expert will provide plenty of info about these ancient reptiles as you cruise down the Daintree River and spot them lazing on the muddy riverbanks or hiding in the waters.
Once back on dry land, refuel with a delicious lunch amongst the trees. We enjoy a guided rainforest walk to learn all about the biodiversity of the incredible Daintree Rainforest and stop for a swim in a secluded swimming hole. Check out the pristine Cape Tribulation Beach, where the rainforest meets the reef, and keep an eye out for a cassowary, before heading back to Cairns in the evening.
