Great Barrier Reef Tour from Port Douglas Itinerary

The Great Barrier Reef tour from Port Douglas visit three separate reef locations known for their mix of corals and an array of sea creatures. Tours include age- and size-appropriate snorkelling equipment such as masks, snorkels and lycra suits for those keen to feel the warmth of the waters on their bodies. Should you prefer, it’s fine to stay aboard your vessel too, where the knowledgeable staff will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

The stable modern vessels used mean any sign of seasickness should be a thing of the past, while providing a level of comfort only dreamed about a few years ago. As the crew ensure safe passage between the individual reefs you can soak up the Aussie sun from the exterior portions of the decks or swat up on turtle migration patterns.

The adventure begins at our base of Crystalbrook Marina, right at the heart of Port Douglas. From here, the azure blue shallows of our first reef locations are just over an hour sailing time away, helping you to maximise your time in the tropical seas you’ve come to experience.

Just after 10:00am, it’s time to don your snorkel gear as we arrive at our first reef site. Upgrade to include a beginner or certified dive for the chance to explore further below the surface. You’ll be amazed by the vibrant colours and shapes of the different corals and the array of marine life including parrot fish, maori wrasse, turtles and much more! Before long, we’ll head to our second reef location for more snorkelling or diving before enjoying a delicious buffet lunch onboard.

After lunch, learn more about the reef and its inhabitants with a talk from one of our knowledgeable crew members. Then we head to our final reef site for one last exploration of the colourful coral gardens of the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy some afternoon tea as we cruise back, arriving in Port Douglas around 4:30pm.
