This 1 Day Great Barrier Reef Small Group Day Tour shows you the best spots at one of the world’s most incredible natural wonders. Throughout the day, you’ll have the chance to explore the underwater world, the reef’s mesmerising marine life, and the spectacular islands that dot this part of the ocean. We'll be spending roughly 4 hours at Upolu Reef, which is located just on the edge of the Outer Barrier Reef.

For adventure-seekers, there will be plenty of opportunities to try scuba diving and snorkelling. Best of all, this small group tour is limited to only 20 travellers!

Important Information

Child prices are available for children aged 4 - 14 years old. Infants under the age of 4 years travel free with a parent.

Please note: various factors may impact your ability to dive including if you are flying within 24 hours of the cruise and some medical conditions. All divers are required to fill out a questionnaire before they are cleared to dive. Please view the questionnaire here and discuss with us anything that may prevent you from diving before you book.

This tour requires all passengers to be competent swimmers to be able to join the tour. If you are a non-swimmer you will not be able to join.

Itinerary

Great Barrier Reef Small Group Day Tour Itinerary

The day begins in Cairns, where you’ll hop aboard your boat for the day. After that, we’ll head out into the ocean, where you can marvel at the surreal turquoise colours and soak up the endless views of colourful reefs, islands, and vibrant marine life.

We’ll be spending around 4 hours at the stunning Upolu Reef, where you can try your hand at scuba diving (own expense). You’ll learn the ropes of exploring underwater, and you’ll have the chance to learn more about the habitats of the creatures and their behaviour. If you’re already an experienced diver, treat yourself with a certified dive.

Throughout the day, you can go for a swim, snorkel (snorkel guide included), or simply kick back and relax on the deck. Today we’ll be exploring two sites, so there is lots of time for you to do all of this!

For lunch, we’ll tuck into a delicious tropical buffet with tea and coffee to enjoy in the lovely sun. After lunch we’ll be doing some more snorkelling, diving, swimming and chilling. The day comes to a close around 4:40 pm as we arrive back in Cairns.
