The point where the Great Barrier Reef collides with the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest rainforest in the world, is packed full of mesmerising landmarks and scenery. Known as Cape Tribulation, it promises both once-in-a-lifetime land and water-based adventures. Our 2 Day Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest Tour, will truly give you the experience to explore the majestic beauty of the Daintree Rainforest through a fully guided rainforest night walk. You’ll be amazed at how the rainforest comes alive with the sounds of the surrounding wildlife!
You can experience everything this region has to offer by relaxing on pristine beaches, taking a dip in the crystal clear waters and much more!
Day One (Lunch and Dinner)
At Port Douglas, you’ll have the chance to take a walk along the sandy shores of the famous 4-mile beach and take a dip in the cool shallows. Afterwards, we’ll take a cruise in search of the region’s saltwater crocs, learning all about their natural habitat and history in Cape Tribulation.
We then make our way back to the Daintree River for a crocodile and wildlife spotting cruise. Once we’re on the other side of the Daintree River, we’ll duck into the depths of the rainforest to look for some of Australia’s most elusive wildlife – keep your eyes peeled for the prehistoric cassowary.
After lunch, you’ll have time to kick back and relax on the beach, swim in the crystal clear creeks, and discover two impressive lookouts that provide panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Before we bed down for the night in accommodation at the heart of the rainforest, we’ll take a night walk through the undergrowth to experience the landscape under the veil of darkness. Much of the Daintree’s native wildlife is nocturnal, so this is a fantastic opportunity to see the rainforest teeming with life!
Day Two (Breakfast)
On the morning of day two, you can choose to get up early and witness the sunrise before you’re free to do as you wish. You might choose to venture out into the Great Barrier Reef and experience one of the world’s most fascinating ecosystems or you might want to ride horses through the rainforest. Or you can simply kick back and soak up the lush rainforest surrounds and tranquil atmosphere.
In the afternoon, we show you a completely different side of Tropical North Queensland. We head to the fringes of the Outback, where huge termite mounds decorate the landscape. You’ll hopefully have the unique opportunity to hand-feed wallabies in the wild!
We’ll arrive back in Cairns in the evening having thoroughly explored the variety of environments found in this incredible region north of Cairns!
