Day One (D)
We’ll leave Melbourne and head straight for Tower Hill on day one, stopping on the way for free tea, coffee, and snacks. Once there, you can spot native critters, like kangaroos and koalas, before we stop for lunch (in winter, you can go whale watching at Logan’s Beach after refueling).
Then it’s on the Great Ocean Road, where you can soak up the incredible views at Bay of Islands, Bay of Martyrs, The Grotto, and London Bridge, before experiencing the sunset at the 12 Apostles. You can hang around to see the penguins return up the beach from their day of fishing here, too.
Day Two (B)
We start the day by visiting Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles in daylight. Here, you can also opt to take a helicopter flight above the scenery at your own expense.
We’ll then move on to Gibson Steps and Maits Rest, where you’ll have the chance to take a guided rainforest walk.
Lunch will be in the quaint town of Apollo Bay, and then it’s on to Bells’ Beach, where you can kick back, relax, and watch the surfers ride the waves. On the way back, we can stop at Torquay for some surf shopping before we arrive back in Melbourne.
