Sydney to Perth Tour
Make the journey from east to west and experience all the iconic sights, breathtaking beaches, quaint country towns and more, between Sydney and Perth. You’ll have heaps of opportunities to spot Australia’s native wildlife in their natural habitat, including kangaroos, koalas, emus, wallabies and more. You’ll spend a night in Canberra and visit Parliament House and important cultural centres on your way from Sydney to Melbourne.
Then travel along one of the most spectacular coastal drives, the Great Ocean Road, and spend the night in the breathtaking scenery of the Grampians National Park on the leg from Melbourne to Adelaide. From Adelaide you keep heading west, taking time to explore the Flinders Ranges and Eyre Peninsular, before hitting the Nullarbor Plain to enter Western Australia. From here it is more pristine beaches and friendly wildlife in Esperance and Margaret River, before turning north to arrive in Perth.

Our Sydney to Perth tour combines our Sydney to Melbourne, Melbourne to Adelaide and Adelaide to Perth tours to offer you the best flexibility in one great value package. You select your travel dates for each tour, meaning you can spend extra time in Melbourne and Adelaide or keep travelling straight on. Accommodation is included while on tour, but we leave the accommodation in Melbourne and Adelaide between tours up to you.
Minimum age for this tour is 8 years old. If you are travelling with a child under the age of 18 years old, you will need to upgrade to a private room. Please call us prior to making the booking to check for availability.
This tour requires a moderate level of fitness.
Luggage is restricted to a maximum of 7kgs per person. If you are travelling with more than 7kgs, please notify us when you book.

Day 1: Sydney to Canberra
Kickstart your Sydney to Perth tour by departing Sydney on route towards the nation’s capital, Canberra. On the way to Canberra, we will pass through the stunning Southern Highlands and grab a coffee (own expense) at one of the quaint country towns that dot the route. Once we’ve arrived in Canberra, we enjoy a guided tour of Australia’s centre of political power, Parliament House. After a lunch break, you can discover the cultural treasures of the National Museum of Australia with 1.5 hours of free time to explore at your leisure. We regather at the Australian War Memorial where you will learn about Australia’s involvement in conflicts around the world before taking a drive through the pretty suburb of Yarralumla. We’ll drop you at your accommodation at Canberra City YHA, located conveniently in the city close to restaurants, bars and shops.

Day 2: Canberra to Melbourne
After breakfast, make your way to the Jolimont Centre to meet the coach straight to Melbourne. You’ll arrive in the centre of Melbourne at Southern Cross Station about 5:00pm, from where it is easy to make your way to accommodation or public transport.
Accommodation: Not included. Please arrange your own accommodation in Melbourne.

Day 3: Melbourne to Great Ocean Road
Victoria’s Great Ocean Road offers some of the country’s most picturesque views. Today, we will get to pass the pristine beaches along the iconic stretch of road, before stopping at Memorial Arch and its surroundings. For animal lovers, an easy coastal walk will meet your needs as we spot koalas, kookaburras, parrots and lorikeets!
We stop off in Apollo Bay for lunch, prior to a guided walk in the Otway Rainforest. Then we arrive on the Shipwreck Coast to explore Loch Ard Gorge and enjoy a view of the world-famous Twelve Apostles. What better way to complete an adventurous day, than by going night-time kangaroo spotting as we make our way to the Grampians National Park. We relax and bed down in the heart of the Grampians, as we prepare for another thrilling day of adventure.

Day 4: Grampians National Park to Adelaide
Today we will tour the Grampians National Park, taking in the unique and diverse collection of wildlife. Some of the native species we may spot include kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas and koalas. Today you will have the opportunity to hike through the majestic mountains throughout the area, visit Halls Gap, and learn of the colourful Indigenous history of the area. Before we arrive in Adelaide, we pay a visit to Reed’s Lookout or Lake Bellfield and check out either McKenzie or Silverband Falls.

Day 5: Adelaide to Flinders Ranges
We begin our journey from Adelaide to Perth in the early hours of the morning as we depart the City of Churches and head north to the town of Clare for morning tea. We depart Clare and head towards the rocky gorges and Red Gums of the Flinders Ranges. Stretch your legs by taking a stroll through Alligator Gorge.
As the sun sets and we explore the stunning Warren Gorge in the Flinders Ranges, you may be fortunate enough to spot several species in danger of extinction, including Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies. We set up and prepare for the night which we will spend bush camping.

Day 6: Coodlie Park and the Eyre Peninsula
We start the morning early to journey to the spectacular Eyre Peninsula. On the way you will pass the unique silo art of the country town of Kimba. Following a hearty lunch, we continue to Venus Bay and Talia Caves before arriving at Coodlie Park in the evening. Here we will enjoy a delicious Aussie BBQ feast before bedding down in a swag hut.

Day 7: Baird Bay and Surf Lesson
Wake up nice an early for surfing lessons at a pristine beach with Sceale Bay Surf School. Those not wanting to surf can relax or enjoy a nice stroll along the beach.
Following on from a picnic style lunch, we come fact to fact with the stunning Baird Bay, which offers spectacular aquatic wildlife viewing. In the early hours of the morning, you will have the opportunity to swim or snorkel off the sandy beaches or swim with sea-lions and dolphins on a 3-hour cruise ($180). We recommend partaking in this unforgettable experience! Then we enjoy another delicious dinner at Penong, where we will camp for the night.

Day 8: The Nullarbor and the Great Australian Bight
We begin the day by crossing out over the 5,320-kilometer-long dingo fence, where we come across the famous wombat, emu, camel road sign on the Nullarbor. We make a quick pit stop at the majestic Bunda Cliffs, where we will see the Southern Ocean crashing up against the cliffs of the Great Australian Bight. Witness a variety of marine life, before our adventure continues to our next bush camping location under the Southern skies on the Nullarbor. Our entertainment tonight is brought to you by celestial sphere!

Day 9: Esperance and Cape Le Grand National Park
On day nine of our Sydney to Perth Tour, we finish off the last part of the Nullarbor and visit the Caiguna Blowhole. We pass through the small road house community towns of Balladonia and Norseman before arriving in the beautiful seaside town of Esperance. Esperance is a small quiet town; however, it may feel busy compared to some of the other towns we have visited on this outback experience. To conclude the day, we set up camp in the spectacular Cape Le Grand National Park.

Day 10: Cape Le Grand National Park
Wake up and enjoy a morning to spend at your own leisure in the spectacular Cape Le Grand National Park. Take the opportunity to set out on a coastal bushwalk, have a splash about in the sea, take some memorable photos, or sit back and relax with your new friends along the large stretch of sandy beaches. Dusk and dawn are the best times to meet kangaroos on the snow white sands of Lucky Bay and get that Insta-worthy photo with one of Australia’s most famous residents.

Day 11: Cape Le Grand National Park to Stirling Ranges
Begin the day with a hike to the top of Frenchman’s Peak for unrivalled views over the Recherche Archipelago. We’ll take the coastal drive out of town with lunch at one of the stunning beaches along the way. We continue the drive towards the Stirling Ranges, arriving at out campsite at Mount Trio in the evening.

Day 12: Porongurups and South West Coast
We start the day with another early morning wake up ready to visit the oldest mountain range in the world – the Porongurups. We enjoy a challenging hike to the top of Castle Rock for breathtaking views over the region. For those familiar with the Great Ocean Road located in Victoria, in the afternoon we travel on a road which replicated the picturesque drive in Western Australia. You’ll have plenty of photo opportunities at stunning locations including Gap, Natural Bridge, Elephant Rocks and Green Pools. As our journey continues, we head towards the Valley of the Giants, the home of a collection of tall Tingle trees! We spend the night swag camping at a caravan park in the area.

Day 13: Margaret River
Sadly, our adventure is coming to an end, before it does, spend the day climbing the 50 metre Diamond Tree and be amazed by the stunning views from 75 meters above the ground! Followed by a visit to Margaret River, we’ll be sampling some of the local boutique brews, wines, chocolate and cheese the region is famous for.

Day 14: Margaret River to Perth
Wake up for the last time and take in the sounds of kookaburras and cockatoos prior to heading along the coast to Perth. Today we will explore Ngilgi Caves with Wardandi custodian, Josh. Josh will share with you the world’s oldest continuing culture through a memorable didgeridoo cave experience, traditional fire lighting and native bush tucker and medicine. We continue to Busselton for our last swim before heading north to arrive at our final destination, Perth. It’s time to say a final goodbye to each other and reflect on this amazing journey which we have embarked on.
