Things kick off with a Mary River Wetlands Cruise for an introduction into the incredible array of wildlife that call this area home. Keeps your eyes peeled for crocodiles and buffalo in the water, and some of the 250 bird species that nest in the Top End.
Next up, we enter Kakadu National Park and stop for a picnic lunch in a scenic area along the South Alligator River, before our journey takes us through the bush and deeper into the park. We arrive at Ubirr Rock in the afternoon, where your guide will interpret the ancient Aboriginal rock art that decorates the walls and enlighten you with stories from the Dreamtime. We climb to the Nadab Lookout for incredible views over the floodplains all the way to Arnhem Land before we set up camp in our private campsite.
Day Two (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Rise and shine ready for a day of exploring Kakadu! Today we journey off-road in search of waterfalls and discover the spectacular natural scenery that makes this place so special. We start off with an off-road journey to Twin Falls, where we take a boat shuttle and enjoy a short hike on a rocky track to reach the tranquil swimming hole. After a refreshing swim, we make our way to Jim Jim Falls, where we walk through the monsoon forests to arrive at the base of the towering 150-metre-high cliff. Enjoy another swim or relax on the boulders before we jump back on the bus and head out of Kakadu toward Litchfield where we spend the night in our private campsite.
Day Three (breakfast and lunch)
We awake in Litchfield National Park, ready to spend the final day exploring this astonishing wilderness. Admire the weird magnetic and cathedral termite mounds dotted about the park and explore more picturesque waterfalls including Florence and Wangi Falls. Enjoy another swim at Buley Rockholes, before we head back into Darwin in the evening.
