Puffing Billy with Penguins Day Tour Itinerary
From Melbourne, we’ll head to the Dandenong Ranges National Park, where your adventure begins! We’ll arrive at Belgrave, where you’ll have the chance to grab a coffee/snack before boarding the train. Then, you’ll climb aboard the iconic Puffing Billy steam train.
To get an immersive experience through the rainforest, dangle your legs over the edge of the train to experience this journey in a super unique way! Enjoy the views of the scenic Dandenong Ranges National Park from the train’s viewing platforms.
Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the towering gum trees and watch birds swooping between the tall trees.
Disembark the train and arrive at The Lakeside Visitor Centre. Here, you’ll have time to chill inside this airy café and grab some lunch.
Then, we’ll head on down to Phillip Island, where we’ll arrive at the Nobbies Visitor Centre. Wander around the Nobbies Boardwalks and enjoy the dramatic, sweeping views of the Bass Strait Coast.
Spot the cute little penguins as they snuggle into their cosy burrows on the side of the boardwalk. Look out over to Seal Rock and spot the fur seals basking on the rocks.
After that, it’s time for the Penguin Parade! We’ll head over to Summerland Beach, where we sit in the seating area next to the beach and wait for the penguins to emerge! Watch the penguins in their natural habitat as they emerge from the ocean and waddle towards the shoreline.
After a day of wonderful views and cute wildlife, we’ll head back to Melbourne, where the tour comes to an end.
