Snow is closer to Melbourne than you’d think! Just two hours away from the city lies Lake Mountain Alpine Resort, a winter wonderland blanketed in thick, pure snow. Join us for three fun hours of snow play – make a snowman, explore the wintry landscape with walks and cross-country ski trails, hire a toboggan and much more! We also discover the picturesque surrounding region with a walk to the impressive Steavenson Falls, and top it all off with some sweet treats from the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the weather and snowfall on Lake Mountain, the itinerary may be altered slightly on the day to offer the best experience.
Join the tour in Melbourne, then sit back and admire the beautiful scenery as we drive through the Yarra Valley to Lake Mountain. Once we arrive at Lake Mountain, our guide will take you right up to the resort, where equipment and clothing are available to hire.
At Lake Mountain, you’ll have three hours of free time to enjoy the snow as you like! There are plenty of fun snow activities on offer at the resort, including numerous toboggan runs, cross-country ski trails that explore the mountain, snowshoe walks, and a thrilling flying fox. You can climb to the summit of Lake Mountain for amazing views over the surrounding snowy scenery, make a snowman, or simply enjoy being in the snow with a good old-fashioned snowball fight. To warm up, head indoors for a hot drink at the resort café or browse the retail shop.
In the afternoon, we travel to Steavenson Falls for a short walk to view these impressive waterfalls. One of Victoria’s tallest waterfalls, you can admire the impressive cascades from lookout points and be amazed by the water crashing over the 84-metre drop into the pool below.
As the day draws to an end, we make a final stop on the way home at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery. Here you can sample some of their specialty chocolates, watch the chocolatiers at work through a window, pick up something sweet to take home, or chill out and enjoy the surrounding views of the Yarra Valley. As the sun begins to set, we’ll jump back on the bus to arrive in Melbourne in the early evening.
Equipment hire is at your own expense and can be arranged once you arrive at Lake Mountain with assistance from the guide.
