McLaren Vale & Cube Tour with Lunch Itinerary
Passing through the southern suburbs from central Adelaide, the first designated stop on your McLaren Vale and Cube Tour and Lunch is at the Stump Hill Café. Start as you mean to go on with a tasty morning tea, or take the additional option of sampling a selection of wines from some of the region’s smaller vineyards while looking out over the gardens.
You may instead want to save yourself for what is one of several tour highlights – your arrival at the d’Arenberg Winery’s Cube. Sat among its neat rows of vines, The Cube mimics the form of a Rubik’s cube. Rising to the height of a five-storey building, its upper floors provide staggering views across the surrounding landscape.
Next, it’s on to Chalk Hill Wines, a family-owned winery renowned for its exquisite hand crafted, small batch wines. Here, you will enjoy a traditional Italian-style shared lunch paired with a wine of your choice.
If you manage to tear yourself away, the tasting pavilion of the nearby Beresford Wines stands ready to serve you up a range of their estate and limited release wines, local craft beers or regionally distilled gins, depending on your preference.
Your exploration of the region’s fine food and drink ends at the historic Wirra Wirra vineyards, but you’ll also have plenty of free time to take in the pleasant surroundings of McLaren Vale’s main street stores before your return to central Adelaide.
