Adelaide Wild Dolphin Swim Cruise Itinerary
Our Wild Dolphin Cruise Day Tour departs from Adelaide’s western suburb of Glenelg, the oldest European settlement in mainland South Australia. On our tour, you’ll sail out from the neighbourhood’s beach area on a 58-foot sailing catamaran that will be your base for the full 3.5-hour swimming with dolphins experience.
The vessel has a large 360 viewing deck, perfect for dolphin watching from above water. It’s also wider than most vessels of similar size, allowing for a smoother ride. Commentary provided on the tour will give you an insight into the biology of these much-loved mammals, while everything you need to make the most of the experience is provided, including a wet suit, mask and snorkel.
During the tour, you will have the opportunity to try our different swimming experiences. With the Front Swim experience, you will be attached to a secured net at the bow of the vessel. Front swimming allows you to feel as though you are swimming along with the pod of dolphins as they play near the bow of the vessel. With the Back Swim experience, you will be fully submerged as you view the dolphins swimming around in their natural habitat. Back swimming operates from the back of the vessel, carrying you through the water while you hold on to a secure mermaid line.
Our cruise is unique because the crew and the dolphins have such an impressive relationship that these intelligent creatures now actively seek out the vessel, knowing fun is sure to follow. This means you get to experience dolphins in their most relaxed and natural habitat, not only from the deck of the catamaran, but from the warm waters that lap the coastal fringes of Adelaide too.
