Travel across Australia from west to east, stopping at Australia’s top cities and taking in iconic sights, spectacular beaches and unforgettable outback landscapes on the Perth to Sydney Tour. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet Australia’s unique local wildlife, from lounging with kangaroos on the beach at Lucky Bay to swimming with playful sealions at Baird Bay. We head out from Perth, journeying east across the famous Nullarbor and into South Australia. Passing through the Flinders Ranges and Eyre Peninsula, our next city stop is Adelaide before travelling along the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne. Then its northward bound to Sydney, stopping at Australia’s capital city, Canberra, on the way. By the end you’ll have a camera full of impressive snaps, a bunch of new friends and irreplaceable memories of your journey from Perth to Sydney.
This tour offers the best flexibility for your adventure from Perth to Sydney. The tour is divided into bite-sized journeys, so you can spend as little or as long as you like in the main destinations at the end of each leg. This means you can relax an extra couple of days, explore another new destination or just get straight onto the next part of your adventure. Just select the dates of each journey when you book. Your accommodation is included on all journeys, but we leave the accommodation in between tours up to you, so you can splash out on a fancy hotel or rough it camping – the choice is yours!

Comfortable walking shoes, 1 litre water bottle, insect repellent, weather appropriate clothing (including rain jacket), sleeping bag, sunscreen, swimmers and snacks in your hang luggage. It is also a great idea to have a torch or headlight and a travel pillow.

Spot some Australian wildlife up close, as you drive through WA’s outback, taking the scenic route from Perth to Sydney. You’ll get plenty of Instagram worthy snaps at iconic Australian locations including the spectacular rock formation of the Wave Rock, breath taking views from Frenchmen’s Peak and of course, the famous great 12 Apostles along the Great Ocean Road.
Our Perth to Sydney tour combines our 9 Day Perth to Adelaide Tour, 2 Day Adelaide to Melbourne and 2 Day Melbourne to Sydney Tour, giving you the real Australian outback experience!
We begin our Perth to Sydney adventure with an early morning drive from Perth over the Darling Ranges. Our first stop is in Western Australia’s oldest inland town York, where you can enjoy a coffee and get a taste for life in the Goldfields of WA. We continue east, on route to our next landmark, Wave Rock. We enjoy our lunch break at the rock, before reaching the world renowned Fitzgerald River National Park by the afternoon. We spend our first night swag camping in this stunning location.

We stretch our legs with a morning hike up East Mt Baron, prior to heading out to Esperance to enjoy a coffee and a leisurely stroll around this picturesque seaside town. Take in the spectacular scenery and sandy white beaches of Cape Le Grand National Park, where you may even be lucky enough to spot the local kangaroos lazing about in the sands of Lucky Bay. How you spend the remainder of the day is up to you! Take a dip in the crystal-clear waters, photograph the diverse landscapes, or just mingle and get to know your new travel buddies!

If you missed out on spotting kangaroos yesterday, the early hours of the morning are prime time to witness these beautiful animals. Take a hike up the spectacular Frenchmen’s Peak, where you can capture stunning photography of the beaches and island of the Recherche Archipelago. We continue onwards to Norseman for lunch via the stunning coastal drive out of Esperance, taking in picturesque beaches including Twilight Cove. We spend the night bush camping underneath the great southern night sky! The display of shooting stars and constellations will leave you amazed as you fall asleep.

Today, you will be amazed by the sheer size of this vast country, as we travel 500 kilometers on the world’s longest stretch of road and enter the state of South Australia. The word Nullarbor, originates from the Latin definition “no tree”. Don’t expect to witness a whole lot of vegetation throughout the day! On our way to South Australia we make a pit stop at the old telegraph township of Eucla, and the night is spent camping at Koonalda Homestead.

The driving continues on day five, with several stops along the way. We stop for a photo opportunity at the famous ‘camels/kangaroos/wombat’s’ cross road sign. We stumble across the impressive Bunda Cliffs where the Nullarbor Plains meets the Southern Ocean. By crossing over the world’s longest fence, known as the ‘Dingo Fence’, we enter Yalata Aboriginal Lands. In the afternoon, learn about Indigenous artwork at the Ceduna Arts and Cultural Center. In order to stock up on supplies, we make a quick stop in Streaky Bay, before eventually arriving at Coodlie Park bush camp where we spend the evening.

Prepare yourself for an action filled day, as you have the opportunity to get up-close and personal with some Australia’s friendliest sea life in the fishing village of Baird Bay. Stunning dolphins and playful sea lions can be discovered in the clear waters of the Southern Ocean, just off the Eyre Peninsula. You can enjoy an optional 3-hour cruise in the calm and turquoise waters of Baird Bay and if you are feeling adventurous enough, dive into the water and take part in the most thrilling swim of your life, (at own expense, please inform us if you wish to add this on).
If swimming is not your forte, you can spend the day at Point Labatt Conversation Park, known to be the only place in the mainland of Australia where you can meet the playful Australian sea-lions.
After we refuel for lunch, we are off to Lake Newland Conservation Park to test your sandboarding skills down the massive sand dunes. We spend the night at a working sheep station in MIkkira, which is surrounded by Manna Gum Trees and home to native koalas.

Optional activity: Add a 3 hour cruise from Baird Bay to your tour for a truly amazing experience with swimming with dolphins and sea lions – $180 per person.

We kick start day seven with two very different itineraries to offer you. For our wildlife lovers and thrill seekers, test your fears and swim with the Great White Shark! Take a cruise out into the deep waters of the ocean where you will be suited up into diving gear to view these frightening, yet spectacular creatures from the safety of a shark-proof cage, or if you prefer to stay dry, witness these majestic creatures from a revolutionary glass viewing sub (at own expense).
If you prefer to stay on land, you have the option of further exploring the Eyre Peninsula with a trip along Whaler’s Way to the white sandy beaches of Coffin Bay National Park. You’ll take in spectacular coastal scenery and spot local native wildlife. Followed by a trip to Port Lincoln to enjoy some free time before we pickup the shark drivers to head back to Mikkira to camp for the second night.

Port Lincoln to Mt. Remarkable: Today, we make our way to a remote beach for a two-hour learn to surf lesson with Xtreme Kite & Paddle. Those not wanting to stay dry will be able to relax and soak in the calm and turquoise waters of Fisheries Bay in Port Lincoln.
After a delicious lunch at the beach, we continue our 9 Day Perth to Adelaide to the Flinders Ranges and the rugged Mt Remarkable National Park. You’ll take in spectacular coastal scenery and spot local native wildlife along the way. Before arriving at Mambray Creek, where we will settle in for the night.

Mt Remarkable to Adelaide – Today we arrive into Adelaide in the evening, the final stop on the first leg of our Perth to Sydney Tour. Before we head off, we’ll stop for a hike at Davey’s Gully to enjoy the breathtaking views into the Alligator Basin and the Spencer Gulf! Back on the bus, we’ll continue heading towards Adelaide with a pit stop at Clare Valley, to dig into a delicious lunch and enjoy some local wines. Today, is the perfect opportunity to reflect with your fellow travellers and reminisce the journey you have been on to this date.

It’s time to begin the second leg of our Perth to Sydney adventure with a trip along the Murray River. The Murray is Australia’s longest river, making it a very popular tourist spot, especially throughout summer. We grab a cup of tea at Tolmer Creek in Bordertown, prior to moving on towards the town of Horsham. We continue to Reed’s Lookout or Lake Bellfield before paying a visit to the Jaws of Death and several centuries-old Aboriginal cave paintings in the Grampians National Park.
In the afternoon, we move on to MacKenzie Falls or Silverband Falls, prior to heading out to Boroka Lookout or the Venus Baths for majestic mountain views. Our final stop today is at Halls Gap, where you can spot Eastern Grey Kangaroos and feast on a hearty dinner.

Today starts with a visit to a 30,000-year-old extinct volcano known as Tower Hill. Our next stop is the world renowned Great Ocean Road. Along this bendy stretch of road, we pay a visit to the Bay of Martyrs and the London Bridge. From London Bridge, we head towards Loch Ard Gorge along the Shipwreck coast, and of course the world famous Twelve Apostles.
In the afternoon, we complete a guided bushwalk throughout the ancient landscape of the Otway Rainforest, before cooling off with a swim in Apollo Bay. For those keen on spotting cuddly koalas, the Kennett River is the ideal location to do so! Our final stops for the day are Memorial Arch and the small coastal region of Anglesea. The day concludes in Melbourne; however, we still have two more action packed days to reach our final destination, Sydney.

After meeting the coach at Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station at 8:30am, you’ll make the journey north to Australia’s capital city, Canberra, arriving at 5:00pm. From there you can check into the Canberra City YHA and enjoy a night of free time to explore the city.
Accommodation upgrade: Hostel upgrade – twin or double (shared facilities) – $90 per room. Sole traveller – $130 per room.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. On the final day of our Perth to Sydney adventure, we’ll spend the day exploring the nation’s capital, Canberra. Admire the impressive architecture of Parliament House with a guided tour and enjoy some free time at the National Museum of Australia and the Australian War Memorial. You will have ample time to explore this impressive city before the tour concludes in Sydney in the evening.
